McMinnville, TN – Main Street McMinnville, downtown’s commercial revitalization program, formally unveiled a new brand identity today that represents a significant milestone in the organization’s history. The new logo combines significant buildings, the concept of the new sidewalks found in downtown and the letter “M”. The “M” gives the logo a bold look and the street depth; it represents the Cumberland Mountains surrounding McMinnville and reinforces the M’s found in McMinnville.
After using the pen and ink drawing of the Warren County Court House since its inception, the board of Main Street McMinnville felt it was time to update the look and begin to market downtown into the 21st century. “Our goal for this year is to market downtown McMinnville as a destination for out-of-towners. Having a strong logo for our materials was a natural step in this process” stated Karen Wilson, President of Main Street McMinnville.
The new logo's icon was designed by Johnny King with creative direction and typography by Rita Frizzell of Dakini Graphics in Nashville. Said Frizzell, "The unique look of Downtown McMinnville together with the energetic vision of the Main Street team combined to give ample inspiration for the logo concept. We are pleased to play a small part in the branding efforts of Main Street McMinnville."
The new logo will begin appearing on new media, stationery and other products immediately. Future plans call for variations of the logo for a wide variety of uses.
Main Street McMinnville’s mission is to establish a partnership between the public and private sectors dedicated to revitalizing downtown McMinnville, with emphasis on community livability, economic restructuring and historic preservation. Their vision of historic downtown McMinnville is to create a safe, culturally rich and architecturally preserved downtown which is vibrant and eye-appealing, family and community oriented, and commercially viable.
