Main Street McMinnville was informed at the end of December that their "3D Downtown" project has been included in the National League of Cities (NLC) "Cities Practices Database". Cheryl Glaubinger, of the NLC said "I am pleased to congratulate you on the inclusion in this important list." The National League of Cities' Practices Database provides proven city solutions to its 18,000 member cities on a wide range of issues. It is the Best Practices for cities across the country.
City Practice Online Database is a searchable collection of over 6,000 local government programs and practices. These are current programs in cities and towns across the nation, and the collection covers a multitude of topics. A brief description outlines the basic information, and the name of a staff person is provided so that you can learn more about the program. McMinnville's project will be included in the Spring 2009 update.
Main Street McMinnville continues to receive national and international exposure for McMinnville for the 3D Downtown Project, a unique partnership with the technology giant Google. The Tennessee Department of Economic Development's Commissioner, Matt Kisber, also recognized the project as one of the most innovative projects in the state.
