Design Committee: The Design Committee plans and implements goals that get downtown into tip-top physical shape. Capitalizing on our best assets, historic buildings and our traditional downtown layout including a Court House Square the Design Committee works to create an inviting atmosphere created through window displays, clean and inviting parking areas, good lighting, eye-catching signage (public and business), sidewalks and landscaping that convey a quality visual message about what downtown has to offer. The Design Committee oversees the Design Review portion of the Financial Incentive Programs (Design Grant, Low Interest Loan, and Interest-Free Loan Programs). They were also been instrumental in developing the design of the downtown street and sidewalk improvements, the first phase of which was completed in 2005 and the second phase is scheduled for construction in 2009.
